Our facilities can accommodate all propellers up to 3 meters in diameter, and we can precisely determine the correct propeller dimensions for your ship's peak performance.


Additionally, our Long bed lathe can machine propeller shafts up to 7.5 meters between centers. With a swing of 1100 Diameter, we can achieve shaft trueness to .005' run-out.

The production process includes milling keyways and turning shafts, utilizing the company's extensive, modern facilities in Port Macquarie.

The production process includes milling keyways and turning shafts, utilizing the company's extensive, modern facilities in Port Macquarie. 


Materials employed in shaft manufacturing at Bale Defence Industries encompass 316 stainless steel, AQUAMET22, SAF 2205, and Monel K500. 


The company is equipped to design and manufacture shafts for all types of boats and most ships, boasting a maximum lathe capacity of 7.5 meters between centers and a 1100mm swing. 


Bale Defence Industries can precision turn shafts to a .005" tolerance within this maximum capacity. Additionally, the company excels in the repair and straightening of shafts up to 7.5 meters in length.
